I am obsessed with moss bunnies for Easter this year. I wish that every green bunny in my path could hop into my shopping cart but, boy oh boy, are they pricey. I’ve bought a few of these cuties around town but now that I’ve figured out how to make them out of styrofoam, I plan on filling my home up with tons of little grassy rabbits all while keeping some green in my wallet too.
Hop on down the page for a quick DIY moss bunny decoration tutorial.
These are the supplies I use in making styrofoam moss bunnies.
1. Create a stencil of a bunny.
You can do this by freehand drawing one onto a piece of paper or by printing a bunny outline template. If you’d like to use my bunny template (with the bent ear), click here and save it to your computer. You will then need to enlarge the template to the desired size that you want your bunny to be. I skipped the printer and used my Silhouette machine to cut the bunny into an 11 x 22 stencil.
2. Trace the bunny onto the styrofoam sheet.
3. Use a styrofoam cutter or scissors (if you are using a thin piece) to cut out the bunny outline.
4. Peel and stick the moss mat onto the styrofoam bunny.
5. Cut the moss mat to fit the bunny.
