When I fist got married last year I don’t think my husband realized how much “stuff” it takes to feed my craft addiction. Upon moving into our new house a couple of weeks ago, we decided that it’s time to bite the bullet and actually designate a space for all of my craft supplies. The dining room will no longer be a disaster area folks!
To say that I am excited would be a vast understatement.
I researched a lot of craft room furniture before deciding to go with the Container Store’s Elfa line for my craft space. There are a couple of reasons why I chose elfa.
1. It fit within our budget! This is because we are able to add to the unit it as we go. For instance, I am holding off on buying additional sets of drawers. One will suffice for now. I am forgoing the top shelf of the unit as well. I will stack containers and/or fabric boxes to hide the exposed wall brackets at the top until the Elfa shelving goes on sale in December. Also, the paper station is something that I can always add later.
2. We will most likely be moving again in 12 to 24 months and that was a key factor we considered when choosing Elfa. This line of shelving is easy to take down, store, and move . . . the opposite of bulky wooden furniture like the Martha Stewart craft room collection I looked into.
Organization is a beautiful thing.
