I’m not making any New Year’s resolutions this year. I’ve made them in the past and they never seem to stick. In fact, I’ve all but forgotten them by Easter. Instead of resolving to meet several goals this year, I’m focusing my efforts on a lifestyle motto.
The dust is finally settling after a little end-of-the-year break from blogging and what seemed to be a pretty long but enjoyable holiday season. I’m happy to put 2013 behind me and welcome a new year. This past year wasn’t a bad year. In fact, it was one of the most teaching years I’ve had. I learned a lot about myself and the life that I want to “create” for me and my family. That’s what I’ll be taking with me into 2014.
The word “create” may seem like a simple word but it’s really not. It’s quite profound! Let me explain. I’m a firm believer that as women, we are the creators of happiness in our households. We create and spread joy by making a delightful, comforting and safe home for ourselves and our families though cooking, decorating, hostessing, cleaning, crafting, baking, teaching, praying, planning, and so on. We also “create” a certain ambiance by filling our minds and our homes with gratitude, scripture, and positive affirmations. They’re contagious.
My lifestyle motto for 2014 is to create, create some more, and to watch joy follow suit. What’s your motto for 2014?
