My little turkey turned 3 months old last week and I simply can’t believe it. I feel like it has only been a couple of weeks since we brought her home. The first eight weeks were somewhat groggy due to lack of sleep but we have come through that and we’re head over house shoes (no heels these days) in love with her.
Over these last few weeks, she has learned to giggle and has begun to roll over and grab things with her hands. It’s amazing to see how her ability to interact with us grows over time. Our little strawberry blonde angel loves to smile and we love to smile back. Those dimples light up the room!
No one can prepare you for the joy that motherhood brings. Moms can try to explain it but until you hold your baby in your arms, it can’t truly be understood. A friend told me that “the days are long but the years are short” when it comes to your children and it’s so true. Even thought I am enthralled with my baby girl, there are days that seem to drag on and then all of a sudden you stop and realize how quickly time is passing. Slooow down, please.
I looked through Annabelle’s newborn photos today. It is astounding how much she has changed in only 3 months. I imagine that I will be saying this same thing every 4 weeks for the rest of her life. Be still my heart!
P.S. I am praying for my daughter’s heart everyday. What do you pray over your children?
