I’m a romantic at heart so it’s needless to say that I’ve always had a thing for Valentine’s Day. Even as a single gal, I enjoyed the holiday because my dad would always surprise me with flowers or chocolates. Therefore, I never felt “singled” out on February 14th, even when I, was, in fact, single. One year, he gave me a glass globe music box with a porcelain rose inside. I still have it. In fact, it sits atop the dresser in my daughter’s nursery. I cherish that music box.
Dad always made Valentine’s Day special. This is the very first Valentine’s Day for my daughter, Annabelle, so I am thinking of ways to establish the holiday as one of joy and happiness in our home for always . . . no matter the circumstance, single or not single, boyfriend or no boyfriend. If you have any ideas, let me know. Until then, enjoy these amazing Valentine desserts. I think I’ll make one of these recipes for my favorite Valentine of all time, my dad. Xo
