Those of us who reside south of the Mason-Dixon take holiday “dressing” pretty seriously. Learning your grandmother’s recipe is a right of passage in the south! If you call up north your home, you may refer to it as “stuffing”. It really doesn’t matter what you call it as long as it’s delicious.
Here’s my take on a simple southern cornbread dressing recipe. It’ll have you saying “y’all” at Thanksgiving supper or Christmas dinner.
See, I told you it was a simple recipe. Would I ever steer you wrong? Speaking of simple, I’ve got a little tip. Make your cornbread ahead of time! I make mine the day before. This will save you some time and stress on the day of.
Also, I have a cornbread mix recommendation because in my opinion, it is really important which brand you use. I prefer Fleischmann’s® Simply Homemade® Cornbread Baking Mix. I really like the texture and it definitely tastes homemade.
