The month of May is an absolutely perfect month for creating tissue paper flowers.
From Cinco de Mayo to Mother’s Day, these eye-catching paper delights are cheerful reminders that spring is here and summer is dawning.
All you will need for this craft is as assortment of tissue paper, some pipe cleaners, and scissors. I adore creating things out of supplies I already have, don’t you?
Cut the tissue into 10 x 10″ squares. Choose 12 sheets of paper using multiples of your main colors. Stack them in the order that you would like the colors to appear in the flower.
Accordion fold the stack of tissue like a paper fan.
Wrap a pipe cleaner around the center and twist it tightly.
Fan out the paper. Gently pull each layer upwards to the center of the tied pipe cleaner. Scrunch the tissue as you go.
These are gorgeous gift toppers (instead of a bow), picture frame accents, wall decor, or centerpieces. You can even tie them outside to a fence or rail like I did for a splendid splash of color on your patio. They also look fab strung together as a hanging banner.
The possibilities are endless!
