Tutorial
1. To begin crafting your candy topiary, you will first want to sort your candy by color. I love bright & colorful candies for spring so I chose to use Skittles for my Easter centerpiece. When sorting the Skittles, I decided to leave out colors that were not reminiscent of Easter. Aren’t these Skittles simply gorgeous?
2. Next, paint the styrofoam ball and dowel. Only one coat is needed. Why do we paint the ball? Nobody wants to see hints of white peaking out in between your candies.

Allow the paint to dry. This should only take a couple of hours.
3. Next, plug in your glue gun. When the styrofoam paint has completely dried and your glue is hot, begin gluing the Skittles onto the styrofoam ball. Place a tiny dot of glue on the center of the candy. I tried to make sure that my glue dot covered the “S” on the face of each Skittle but did not take up any more room than that.
4. Glue away! It’s fun to make patterns. I chose to do colorful flowers with lots of green separating them.
5. Once your ball is covered in Skittles, you will insert one end of the dowel into the ball and the other into the half ball. Place the half ball into your bucket or pot to stabilize the topiary. Adorn the topiary with ribbon and Easter grass and your are all set.
It may take some time but your finished product is bright, bold and beautiful. I hope you have a fun and delicious Easter!
