I’ve always been a big fan of crafts for kids. Honestly, they’re kind of my favorite crafts to do because they’re simple and they always seem to turn out cute. My 1 year old isn’t quite old enough to develop a love of crafting yet, although she does like to play in glue and paint when I let her. I just know that she’ll end up loving crafting as much as her mom does . . . I can feel it! Maybe next year we can make these pilgrims and Indians together. After all, she is a pilgrim. *smirk*
For those of you who have kids of crafting age, this project is a breeze to help them create. All you need are toilet paper rolls, scissors, glue sticks, construction paper in black, yellow, white, manilla, and orange, and a thin black marker. You can study my photos here to mirror what I’ve done or go with whatever design you like.
Simply cover the tubes with colored paper and give them faces and outfits. The hair and the pilgrim hat are the trickiest parts so you may have to do this with (or for) your child. They’re so fun to make! Even my husband got in on this Thanksgiving kids craft.
Toilet paper roll pilgrims and indians make great Thanksgiving decorations or even toys. Happy crafting, y’all!!
