November makes me think of two things: pumpkin spice and apple pie. Sometimes together and sometimes not. If we’re talking scents, I keep them separate. If we’re talking flavor, they do go together well. For the sake of today’s recipe, I’m mixing the two flavors but in a very healthy way.
Pumpkin and apple are the perfect pairing for a fall breakfast smoothie, don’t you think? This healthy Pumpkin-Apple Breakfast Smoothie will satisfy your fall flavor cravings and keep you full for hours.
16.9 oz water (I prefer Jeju 16 Water.)
½ cup plus 2 tbsp. old-fashioned oats
½ cup canned pumpkin
1 cup Greek yogurt
1 1/2 medium apples, cut into pieces
1 banana, sliced and frozen
½ cup milk ( I prefer almond milk.)
⅛ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
8 ice cubes
Handful of almonds
Place oats in blender and blend for about 30 seconds until finely chopped. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
